26 Ranga Singh’s obituary, The Straits Times, 2 August 1984, p.40.
The original clipping names “S. RANGA SINGH KARMUWALA”, gives age 82 and death on 1 August 1984, and lists an unnamed wife, son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters and three grandsons. The age supports the approximate birth year. The father’s name appears in the separate requiem notice at 31.
30 Karmuwala birthplace confirmed by the family research owner on 21 October 2026.
The village association is also printed in 31, although that wording alone does not establish birthplace.
31 Family-supplied newspaper clipping headed “185 Requiem”, visually inspected.
It names Ranga Singh as son of Pal Singh, identifies Village Karmuwala and gives his departure date as 1 August 1984. It announces Path Da Bhog at Sri Guru Singh Sabha on 28 July 1985, from 8 a.m. to noon, consistent with a first-anniversary remembrance. The publication date, newspaper title and page number are not visible in the supplied crop; the ceremony date is not a verified publication date. This is distinct from the 2 August 1984 obituary at 26.
