Attar Singh

Son of Hira Singh from village Gharka.  Returned to India after period of 2 months in Shanghai on 26 Sep 1914 via the SS Komagata Maru.

Bahadur Singh

Born in 1923 to Sunder Singh and Attri, of Karmuwala, Gharka, Amritsar, India. Served in the 12th Frontier Force Regiment 3rd Royal Bn as a Sepoy (Service No 16313).  Died in WW2 on 15 May 1944  at the age  of 21. [1]

Bhan Singh

Son of Wasakha Singh; b. 1894, v. & p.o. Gharka, t. Tarn Taran, dt. Amritsar; occ. Agriculture; served Shanghai Municipal Police as Constable No. 20; joined I.N.A. as Volunteer; contributed 7000 dollars to the I N.A. fund. [1] It is not clear if he is the Bhan Singh who had subdued Harbant Singh, the assassin of Buddha Singh (on 6 Apr 1927) in Shanghai.

Chanchal Singh

Son of Bishan Singh; b. 1914, v. & p.o. Gharka, t. Tarn Taran, dt. Amritsar; ed. knows Urdu; occ. Agriculture; was a Watchman in Singapore; contributed 1000 dollars to the I.N.A. fund; joined I.N.A. as Volunteer. [1]

Chet Singh

Son of Jhanda Singh, of Karmu Wala, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Punjab. Served as a Lance Naik (Service No: 2091) in the 56th Punjabi Rifles (Frontier Force) 1st Bn and died in WW1  on 02 November 1917. [1]

Dalip Singh

Son of Jowahar Singh s/o Bhan Singh ; b. 1919, v. Karmuwala, p.o. Gharka,t. Tarn Taran, dt. Amritsar; occ. Agriculture; joined the Indian Army. on 11 April, 1937 as Sepoy No. 11251 and served with the 1/15th Pb. Regt.; joined I.N.A. in 1942 as Hav. No. 54836 at Rangoon, taken P.O.W.; brought to India and was kept in Jigar Kacha Camp; released in June, 1946. [1] [2] Based on jammabandi records from 1958 Dalip Singh also had a brother, Santa Singh.

From the Nominal Rolls of the INA, it appears he was absorbed initially as a Sepoy in the Bahadur Group of INA. He was also recorded as 176cm (5foot 9.5 inch) tall in Indian Army records

Hazara Singh

Son of Badan Singh; b. 1909, v. & p.o. Gharka, t. Tarn Taran dt. Amritsar; ed. literate; occ. Agri- culture; served in Shanghai Municipal Police as Warder No. 17; contributed 1200 dollars to the I.N.A. fund; joined I.N.A. [1]

Jai Singh (alias Nir Bhai Singh)

Son of Mehtab Singh from village Karmuwala.  Returned to India from Manila on 8 Jan 1914 via the SS Lopez and Kistana Maru.

Santokh Singh

Son of Bhagat Singh; b. 1923, v. Gharka, t. Tarn Taran, dt. Amritsar;dt. Amritsar; ed. literate; occ. Agriculture; took part in Kissan morchas 1938 and 1939; underwent 9 months’ imprisonment in Lahore Jail. [1]

Son of Chanda Singh from village Karmuwala.  Returned to India from Vancouver  on 11 Nov 1914 via the SS Kum Sang.
